These systems use refrigerant gas to carry the energy from outside to inside or vice versa. They comprise of an outdoor condensing unit and and indoor fan coil unit. The case of cooling the outdoor condensing unit cools the refrigerant and sends it through a small bore pipe to the indoor fan coil unit (ceiling cassette, wall mounted unit, ducted unit, multi-split unit etc) where it will expand to lower the temperature of the refrigerant in the pipe, hence when the air in the room is circulated over the coil will loose its unwanted heat and humidity. Heating is achieved by the outdoor condensing unit reversing the cycle. These systems are most commonly used in offices, shops, restaurants, residential, training rooms etc. |
